Author Guidelines

System Technologies considers original research articles, review articles, analytical papers, and discussion materials that correspond to the aims and scope of the journal.

Manuscripts must present original research results and demonstrate scientific novelty, reliability, methodological rigour, and practical relevance. All submitted materials undergo editorial screening and peer review.

Scope of the Journal

The journal publishes research in civil engineering and architecture, including structural engineering, construction materials and products, construction technology and management, structural mechanics, foundations and underground structures, hydraulic engineering, water supply and wastewater disposal, heating and gas supply, ventilation, air conditioning, architecture, conservation, renovation, and urban planning.

Conditions of Submission

By submitting a manuscript, the authors confirm that:

  • the work has not been published previously in full or in substantial part;
  • the manuscript is not under consideration by another journal;
  • all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript;
  • all necessary approvals have been obtained from the organisation where the research was conducted, where applicable;
  • the authors are responsible for the accuracy of the data, correctness of citations, and observance of third-party rights;
  • figures, tables, photographs, graphs, and other materials are created by the authors or used lawfully with appropriate acknowledgement of the source.

Manuscript Structure

A manuscript should normally include the following elements:

  1. UDC classification code;
  2. author information;
  3. article title in Russian;
  4. abstract and keywords in Russian;
  5. main text of the article;
  6. conclusion or findings;
  7. reference list;
  8. author information, article title, abstract, and keywords in English.

The recommended structure of the main text is: “Introduction”, “Materials and Methods”, “Results”, “Discussion”, and “Conclusion”. A different structure may be used where it is justified by the nature of the research.

Technical Requirements

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
  • Recommended article length: 10,000 to 30,000 characters including spaces, abstract, and references.
  • Main text font: Times New Roman, 14 pt.
  • Main text line spacing: 1.5.
  • Page margins: 2 cm on all sides.
  • First-line indent: 1.25 cm.
  • Main text should be justified.
  • The article title should be centred, bold, and written in uppercase letters without abbreviations.
  • Equations and mathematical symbols should be prepared using an equation editor; recommended font size: 12 pt.
  • All abbreviations and special symbols should be defined when first used.

Tables, Figures, and Equations

  • Each table must have a number and a title placed above the table.
  • Each figure must have a number and a caption placed below the figure.
  • All tables, figures, and equations must be cited in the main text.
  • Figures, diagrams, and graphs must be clear, legible, and suitable for publication.
  • When using third-party materials, authors must provide an appropriate source acknowledgement and comply with the rights holder’s requirements.

References

  • References should be listed in the order in which they are cited in the text.
  • In-text citations should be given in square brackets: [1], [2, 3], [4–6].
  • Only sources cited in the manuscript may be included in the reference list.
  • Bibliographic references should be provided in the original language of the source.
  • Authors are strongly encouraged to include DOIs for references where available.
  • A minimum of 10 references is recommended where appropriate to the article type and subject area.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest that could affect the preparation, conduct, interpretation, or publication of the study.

If there is no conflict of interest, authors are encouraged to include the following statement: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

The use of generative artificial intelligence tools for drafting or editing text, translation, images, tables, software code, literature searches, or data analysis must be disclosed by the authors in the manuscript or cover letter.

Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors. The authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the text, data, references, images, tables, conclusions, and compliance with copyright requirements.

Peer Review

All manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening for compliance with the journal’s scope and formatting requirements. Manuscripts that pass the preliminary screening are sent for peer review.

The Editorial Office may request additional documents, explanations, information on underlying data, or external expert opinions. Where necessary, authors may submit two external reviews in signed PDF format and in an editable Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

Copyright and Open Access

Authors retain copyright in their published work and grant the journal the right of first publication. Authors may deposit the published version of their article in institutional repositories, personal websites, and other non-commercial resources, provided that a bibliographic reference to the original publication in System Technologies is included.

Authors agree to the open-access publication of full texts, components, and metadata of their articles on the journal website, in scholarly citation systems, and in databases.

Publication Fees

The publication fee is RUB 6,000 for an article of up to 10 pages, calculated from the abstract through the reference list, inclusive. Each additional page is charged at RUB 400.

The publication fee includes one printed copy of the journal issue. An additional printed copy costs RUB 400.

An invoice is sent to the author after the editorial decision has been made. Discounts or fee waivers may be considered by the Editorial Office on an individual basis.

Submission Procedure

Manuscripts and accompanying materials should be submitted through the journal’s online editorial system or sent to the Editorial Office at: integralferma@gmail.com.

The Editorial Office sends an acknowledgement of receipt after the submission has been received. If no acknowledgement is received within seven calendar days, authors are advised to contact the Editorial Office again.

Authors are requested to download and use the manuscript template before submitting an article.
