The article examines the problem of assessing and ensuring the reliability and energy efficiency of water supply and wastewater drainage dukes.
It is shown that dukes are among the most operationally complex elements of water supply and wastewater drainage systems. Their specific characteristics are determined by a combination of hydraulic, structural, geotechnical, and operational factors.
Therefore, the problem of assessing the reliability and energy efficiency of existing dunkers is relevant, as is technical diagnostics and the development of requirements for the design and restoration of the reliability of dunkers without dismantling the old one, using trenchless methods of pulling polymer pipes into the existing dunker with their preliminary compression and subsequent expansion, or the use of protective coatings.
A classification of accidents and defects in dunkers is presented, as well as a matrix of the most characteristic defects and emergency conditions of dunker transitions, aimed at moving from defect detection to assessing its impact on strength, stability, tightness, reliability, and residual service life. An analysis is presented of the impact of defects in operational dunkers on energy efficiency.
The work is carried out in accordance with the research plan of the Ministry of Construction of Russia: “Research and development of theoretical foundations and practical measures to ensure the reliability of dunkers in water supply and wastewater disposal systems during their design, construction, and operation.”
